About the Role

Bromley Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the Referral & Assessment Service within Children’s Social Care. This is a fast‑paced frontline role requiring strong leadership, oversight of complex cases, and the ability to drive high‑quality, timely decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Referral & Assessment team
  • Oversee high‑risk and complex safeguarding referrals
  • Ensure timely decision‑making and effective case allocation
  • Provide reflective supervision and support to social workers
  • Maintain high standards of practice and compliance
  • Work closely with partners to ensure coordinated responses
  • Support service performance, quality assurance and improvement activity

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered)
  • Team Manager experience in Referral & Assessment is essential
  • Strong safeguarding, risk assessment and frontline management skills
  • Ability to work in the office 3 days per week
  • Confident decision‑maker with excellent leadership capability
