    The Role

    This is a Senior Social Worker position within the SHIFT Guide service, supporting children, young people, and families across Kingston & Richmond. You will provide high‑quality, strengths‑based social work practice, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and safeguarding remains central to all decision‑making. This role requires confident professional judgement, strong partnership working, and the ability to manage a varied and complex caseload.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver high‑quality social work interventions in line with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
    • Hold and manage a complex caseload, ensuring timely assessments, plans, and reviews.
    • Provide guidance, support, and professional oversight to less experienced team members.
    • Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
    • Prepare clear, evidence‑based reports for court, panels, and internal decision‑making.
    • Maintain accurate, timely case records and ensure compliance with all safeguarding procedures.
    • Contribute to service development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement within the team.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Degree in Social Work or equivalent (DipSW, CQSW, CSS).
    • Recognised professional qualification in Social Work and current registration.
    • Strong experience in statutory children’s social care.
    • Confident in risk assessment, safety planning, and multi‑agency working.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
