Neway International are seeking a Care Worker (Social Care Non‑Qualified) to join our client based with Thurrock Council.
Location: Southend Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 5RS
Hours: 21.75 per week
Rate:
- PAYE: £12.21 per hour
- Limited/Umbrella: £15.75 per hour
About the Client
Thurrock Council’s Adults and Health directorate provides essential care and support to vulnerable adults across the borough. Their services operate in line with the Care Act 2014 and Care Quality Commission Fundamental Standards, ensuring safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well‑led provision. Due to long‑term sickness within the team, additional capacity is required to maintain continuity of care.
The Role
The Care Worker will support vulnerable adults who have been assessed as requiring a care package. The role involves delivering personal care, supporting daily living tasks, and promoting independence and wellbeing. Flexibility is essential, as the postholder will work across Piggs Corner Sheltered Accommodation Complex in Grays and Collins House Residential Home in Corringham.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality care and support to vulnerable adults in line with assessed care plans.
- Assist with personal care, toileting, medication, food and fluid intake, and mobility/transfers.
- Promote social inclusion and support residents to engage in daily activities.
- Work flexibly across two service locations as required.
- Maintain accurate records and follow all organisational policies and procedures.
- Ensure care delivery meets CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive environment for residents and colleagues.

- Understanding of the Care Act 2014 and care provision standards.
- Ability to work night shifts as the primary pattern.
