About the Role
Conwy County Borough Council is seeking an Assistant Family Worker to work alongside the Flying Start Childcare Team. This temporary role has been created to cover a vacancy and will involve supporting families and children across Conwy County, ensuring access to childcare, family centres, and wider community services.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and support group sessions (including online) and informal gatherings in childcare settings and family centres.
- Provide a welcoming environment that encourages peer support between families.
- Plan, organise, and deliver activities supporting speech, language, and communication.
- Support families to access childcare, family centres, and family support teams.
- Provide information, advice, and assistance to help families access services across the community, including third sector, local authority, and health services.
- Actively promote links across childcare, family support, and speech and language therapy services.
Candidate Profile
- Good standard of education (5 GCSEs or equivalent) plus technology and software skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families.
- Ability to travel throughout Conwy County.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, family-focused support services.
