Hours: 36.5 per week

The Role

The Team Manager will lead a team of seven social care professionals, including social workers, senior social workers, senior practitioners and support staff. You will provide operational leadership, ensure high‐quality practice, and drive service improvement within a busy area service. This role requires strong professional oversight, effective resource management, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver an effective, child‐centred service that meets statutory, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure safeguarding practice is embedded across the team and aligned with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Provide reflective supervision, undertake evidence‐based audits, and set clear standards of practice.
  • Manage team performance, caseload allocation and workflow to ensure timely, high‐quality assessments and interventions.
  • Support staff development and maintain a culture of continuous professional improvement.
  • Contribute to budget monitoring and ensure services deliver best value.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current professional registration.
  • Proven experience managing or supervising social work teams.
  • Strong understanding of statutory children's social care, safeguarding and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff within a high‐challenge, high‐support environment.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and decision‐making skills.
  • Ability to work to defined objectives and manage competing priorities.
  • Enhanced DBS required.
