Neway International are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our client based with Birmingham Children’s Trust.

Location: Lifford House, Birmingham

Hours: 36.5 per week

Working Pattern: 08:45 – 17:30

This is a busy Children in Care team requiring an experienced Senior Social Worker with a minimum of two years’ post-qualifying experience. You will manage a diverse caseload of children aged 0–18, progressing care plans from the point of an Interim Care Order through to permanence. The role includes court work, assessments, and ensuring full compliance with statutory timescales and court directions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children in care aged 0–18.
  • Lead on care proceedings from the granting of an Interim Care Order.
  • Prepare high-quality court reports, including parenting assessments and Public Law Outline documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with court timetabling and directions.
  • Complete Schedule 3 placement with parents reports.
  • Produce Child Permanence Reports and contribute to permanence planning and matching.
  • Support post-16 young people, progressing transitions and pathway planning.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with active SWE registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualifying experience within Children’s Services.
  • Strong experience in court work, PLO processes, and statutory reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads within a Children in Care environment.
  • Experience of permanence planning, matching, and post-16 transition work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a team.
