Neway International is seeking a Housing Support Worker to join our client based with Nottingham Community Housing Association.
Location: 9 Bridge Street, Shepshed, Leicestershire, LE12 9AD
Hours: 37 per week (shifts between 8am–15:30pm / 2pm–21:30pm, may include weekends and Bank Holidays)

The Role
As a Support Worker, you will enable service users to live as independently as possible, supporting them to make decisions, maintain their wellbeing, and participate fully in daily life. This is a community‑based role within the Mental Health service at Bridge Street, working as part of a dedicated team to deliver safe, consistent and person‑centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support service users to express themselves and make informed choices about their lives.
- Develop and implement individual care and support plans, including risk assessments.
- Promote independence in areas such as personal care, health and hygiene, medication, daily living skills and community engagement.
- Support access to work, education, training, leisure activities and social connections.
- Act as a key worker for named service users.
- Assist with cooking, domestic tasks and maintaining a safe environment.
- Follow and review support plans, recording progress accurately.
- Support individuals who may present behavioural challenges.
- Hold keys, coordinate shift activities, administer medication and handle money appropriately.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities for adults and/or children at risk.
- Maintain accurate records using NCHA systems.
- Respond to health and safety issues and implement emergency procedures when required.
- Work flexibly on a rota that may include weekends, Bank Holidays, night work or sleep‑ins.
- Comply with mandatory vaccination requirements where applicable.

- Experience supporting individuals in a care, support or community‑based setting (paid or voluntary).
- Ability to promote independence, dignity and choice.
