Are you ready to take the reins of a vital service that keeps homes safe, functional, and ready for new tenants? As our Empty Homes and Planned Repairs Manager, you will work alongside our Housing Maintenance Manager to provide strategic direction and operational leadership across the Council’s Responsive Repairs and Voids service, focusing on Empty Homes and Planned Maintenance ensuring quality, value for money, and continuous improvement every step of the way.

In this dynamic role, you’ll:

  • Manage staff and assets delivering responsive repairs and voids
  • Attend tenant panel meetings to share KPIs and resolve service issues
  • Guide and support supervisors in their day-to-day operations
  • Collaborate with Housing Management and Asset Management teams to coordinate service delivery

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience managing building maintenance works and/or building workforces—ideally within the housing sector
  • A strong track record of strategic and operational leadership in an in-house Responsive Repairs and Voids service
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Housing or Building—or demonstrable experience managing a similar service
  • Daily access to a car (alternatives considered for candidates with a disability under the Equality Act 2010)
