The predicted salary is between 28600 - 30000 Β£ per year.

We are now recruiting for an Environmental Protection Officer to work in our communities conducting frontline enforcement and investigations of enviro-crime including fly-tipping, waste issues, graffiti, abandoned vehicles and littering. You will be required to issue fixed penalty notices, conduct investigations and to prepare and present case files for court hearings.

In addition, preferred candidates will have experience of working with schools and community groups and will be ready to build strong links with our communities, undertaking monitoring work and education on recycling and environmental issues. Additional training will be available for the right candidate if required.

Excellent customer care skills are essential for this role and applicants must be able to demonstrate good people skills often in challenging situations. Applicants must be good team players and have excellent computer skills with experience of MS Office software. You must be prepared to work in all weathers on a flexible basis which will include weekends and bank holidays.

You will be working with a professional, committed and experienced team who are passionate about supporting us to deliver the objectives as outlined in our Community Plan. The role is based at our Brunel Drive depot with daily patrols of the district expected using a council vehicle, so a full clean driving licence is required.
