We are now recruiting for a Housing Compliance Manager to lead in both a strategic and operational capacity to ensure we meet our statutory and regulatory duty of care towards our tenants. This is an opportunity for you to develop and grow your teams, establish good practices, and build on our successes to date. In addition, you will work closely with other managers in your Business Unit, as well as with colleagues across the Council, to deliver your objectives. Reporting to the Business Manager Housing Maintenance and Asset Management, you will be required to effectively oversee compliance in gas/electrical/fire safety/asbestos/legionella/lifts. You will need to ensure that services delivered are customer focused and delivered to agreed budgets. With the use of external consultants you will ensure performance is managed and procurement is planned and undertaken in line with regulatory requirements.
You will be qualified to HNC or equivalent, in a building or construction related subject, or have significant relevant demonstrable experience, be customer focused, have the ability to effectively manage competing priorities, and be able to work well in close partnerships with other agencies and organisations. You will also be able to lead a team effectively to deliver to a high standard, to carry out work in line with the values of the Council and to maintain a positive working environment.
