Permanent, 37 hours per week, Salary NS11 £39,152 – £40,777 (pay award pending*).
Overview
We have a new vacancy within our busy but friendly Financial Services Team. Reporting to the Principal Accountant, you will work closely with our Budget Managers to set and monitor budgets, complete the Council’s monthly VAT return, assist with the preparation of the council's annual Statement of Accounts, and support the wider activities of the Financial Services section.
Responsibilities
- Set and monitor budgets in partnership with Budget Managers.
- Complete the Council’s monthly VAT return.
- Assist in preparing the annual Statement of Accounts.
- Support wider activities of the Financial Services section.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working in a finance environment (local government finance experience beneficial but not essential).
- Strong numerical skills and high PC literacy.
- Ability to prioritise workloads while meeting strict deadlines.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication of financial information to all staff levels.

Working Arrangements
Hybrid working is available. Work from our Newark offices two days per week, with some flexibility in hours.
