A senior procurement advisory role leading complex, high‐value sourcing and commercial activity. Opportunity to influence strategy, build commercial capability and drive value across Kāinga Ora. Full time, permanent role - Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch based.

As a Senior Advisor – Procurement, you will play a critical role in delivering and leading medium to large‐scale, complex procurement activity across Kāinga Ora. This is a senior, influential position within a centralised procurement function, providing commercial leadership, strategic advice and expert procurement guidance across the organisation.

You will support and lead strategic end to end procurement initiatives, influence procurement policy and capability, and work closely with senior leaders to ensure procurement delivers strong public value, commercial outcomes and value for money. You will also coach and mentor others, contributing to the ongoing maturity and performance of the procurement function.

This role is ideal for an experienced procurement professional who enjoys complexity, operates comfortably at both strategic and delivery levels, and is motivated by improving outcomes through strong commercial practice.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Extensive senior‐level procurement experience, including leading complex, high‐risk and high‐value procurement projects (>$10m)
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience operating in a centralised procurement or Centre of Excellence environment
  • MCIPS (or equivalent) qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in category management and identifying opportunities to maximise public value
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including credibility with senior leaders
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance, policy and Government Procurement Rules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and in plain language
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically while delivering detailed, high‐quality outcomes
  • A proactive, confident and resilient approach, with sound judgement and discretion
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a high‐performing team
