Are you reliable, energetic, and passionate about supporting a well-run kitchen? We’re looking for a Kitchen Hand to help deliver high-quality meals to our residents in a clean, safe, and caring environment.
About the Role:
As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play a vital support role within our care facility’s kitchen, assisting the Cook/Chef in preparing nutritious meals and maintaining hygiene and food safety standards. You’ll be working closely with a dedicated team, contributing to residents’ daily comfort and wellbeing.
Your key responsibilities include:
Assisting with food preparation and cooking tasks as directed by the Cook/Chef
Washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients for meal service
Ensuring kitchen areas, dishes, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised
Unpacking and storing food and supply deliveries
Disposing of rubbish and maintaining general kitchen tidiness
Following strict hygiene, food safety, and Health & Safety protocols
Supporting the team to deliver warm, timely, and well-presented meals
Adapting to dietary requirements and resident preferences where needed
About You:
We’re seeking a team player with:
Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment; at least one year experience as Kitchen Hand.
A caring attitude, especially toward the elderly and those in care
Good time management and the ability to follow instructions
A strong sense of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety
Physical fitness to work on your feet and lift items as required
Availability for rostered shifts, including weekends
