The Donaldson Residential Trust provides a high-quality home environment for adults with an intellectual disability in a comfortable residential setting. We have 5 houses in the Burnside & Bishopdale area of Christchurch. We are looking for an enthusiastic support person to join our team.
About the job – Te mahi turanga
We have a permanent full-time position working across two of our houses. This role requires a considerable amount of weekend work and some split shifts. The roster does not include sleepovers but may occasionally include them if the successful applicant is interested. The position involves duties such as personal cares, household duties, documentation, and lifestyle activities.
Skills & Experience required – Nga pukenga, nga tohu ou
The essential requirements are:
- Comfortable completing personal cares with Residents
- Empathy toward those with disabilities
- Flexibility in work habits
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- A full, clean driver’s license is essential
- Basic computer skills for notes and reporting
A minimum of two years’ previous experience as a Community Support Worker is preferred.
