Reporting to the Assistant Director of Immigration, Compliance, and Institutional Research at NYU London, with accountability to the Office of Global Programs. The position is located at NYU London.

The Senior Analyst collects, combines, analyzes, assesses, and presents data (e.g., enrollment patterns, survey results, program evaluations, student and faculty information, financial information) from a variety of sources to drive informed discussion, options development, and decision-making relating to strategic priorities and overall delivery of NYU's global academic offerings. The Senior Analyst develops and maintains dashboards and other data displays; conducts analysis and produces reports; builds new data collection, management, and processing tools; and develops and maintains predictive and analytical models of study away participation, capacity utilization, enrollment patterns, etc. Importantly, the Senior Analyst also develops written (prose) reports and presentations for senior leaders and other key stakeholders based on these findings.

Candidates should have exceptional abilities in quantitative and qualitative analysis, use of statistical and data management software tools, and the effective communication of complex quantitative information to broad audiences. Prior experience in higher education assessment and/or analysis is preferred.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Enrollment modeling, forecasting, and analysis: 30%
    • Analyze administrative, focus group, and survey data (e.g., using pivot tables, regression modeling, qualitative techniques) to identify and report on patterns and relationships driving student participation in study away programs.
    • Develop predictive models to forecast student participation and circulation patterns within NYU's global network, with breakdowns by school, major, and demographic characteristics, under various scenarios.
    • Organize and maintain datasets with multiple sources for use in analysis and reporting.
    • In collaboration with other units of the Office of Global Programs, develop, maintain, and implement tools to track and evaluate new and in-progress programs and initiatives, with relevant academic, enrollment, fiscal, and operational performance indicators.
    • Manage, monitor, distribute university study away participation data.
    • Develop and implement new tools for data collection, management, and processing to help meet emergent business needs.
    • Lead on Horizon Planning, enrolment and planning data for OGP Finance.
  • Data visualisation, reporting, ad hoc research, and data processing: 30%
    • Produce static displays (e.g., finished tables and graphs), written reports, and presentations to summarise quantitative and qualitative data and relationships in clear and accessible ways for senior leaders and other key stakeholders.
    • Maintain and further develop dashboards to make study away enrollment and other data easily accessible and useful to Office of Global Programs staff and leadership.
    • Assist Global Programs leadership and staff, with support from Assistant Director of ICIR in conducting ad hoc research and analyses to support cross cutting inquiries and projects, strategic planning and execution, and other efforts as needed.
    • Regularly load all university-wide student bio demo data from the university student information system into Office of Global Programs' customer relationship management system each week to support application and enrollment processing needs.
    • Ad-hoc research in collaboration with Office of the President/university leadership on research questions pertaining to study away.
    • Support NYU Institutional Research by preparing Global Programs data for Open Doors.
    • Lead on data needs for Site Specific Advisory Committees (SSACs), notably producing key data packets.
    • Oversee bringing first year student data into Global Programs' customer relationship management system, tracking changes so OGP and sites have accurate data related to incoming students.
    • Draft and manage student feedback surveys for all NYU global locations. Existing questionnaires include pre-departure, mid-term experience, and end of semester experience surveys.
    • Oversee survey-related dashboards and visualisations, including highlighting historical trends and engaging in comparative analysis across locations and constituent groups/cohorts.
  • Stakeholder management and engagement: 30%
    • Act as key data and research contact between Office of Global Programs and NYU schools, NYU Office of the President, NYU Student Success, and NYU Institutional Research.
    • Work with university partners on implementation of global experience tracking.
    • Liaise with Compass and SLIP teams to ensure accuracy of global data and implementation of future development.
    • Work with NYU MarComm OGP Study Away Student Outreach team on data requests related to outreach and marketing to prospective study away students.
    • Partner with Center for Student Success Insights on study away-related ISS incoming student survey data.
    • Key contact for OGP data needs, including liaising with Leadership, Academics, Student Services, Enrolment, Outreach, teams.
  • Other: 10%
    • Work closely with all units within the Office of Global Programs as well as Assistant Director of Immigration, Compliance, and Institutional Research to ensure analytics and data needs are met and data is accessible to all appropriate stakeholders.
    • Attend meetings as needed.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Education:

Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification/experience.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in data analysis, business intelligence, research, or related field.
  • Experience administering large-scale routine and ad-hoc reporting, and dashboard creation/maintenance.
  • Experience in data modeling and forecasting.
  • Experience in coding language(s) for data analysis.
  • Training and demonstrated skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, statistics, and information display.

  • Well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data, and able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Abilities:
  • Master's Degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Working for a global organisation.
  • Knowledge of the American higher education system.
  • Experience using Tableau, and preferably R for data analysis.
