Overview
In this role, you will drive multiplatform video production for Vox Media's Podcast Network, shaping video-first formats and leading the weekly edit workflow. You collaborate with hosts, editors, and editorial partners to develop distinct visual identities and scalable formats for multiple shows. You will mentor freelance editors and designers and deliver polished content tailored to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and beyond. This position combines hands-on editing with strategic supervision to elevate each show’s performance and brand presence.

Responsibilities
- Develop and launch new video shows with creative guidance and execution support
- Edit and produce longform video episodes with strong pacing and production value across remote, in-studio, and hybrid setups
- Create platform-native shortform content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Design scalable visual elements (motion graphics, captions, lower-thirds) aligned with each show’s tone and platforms
- Manage and mentor freelance editors and designers, ensuring timely delivery and brand consistency
- Write and edit scripts in collaboration with hosts and show teams
- Collaborate with editorial, social, and audience development to meet performance goals and best practices
- Stay current on visual trends to help shows reach target audiences and stand out
Key requirements
- 6–8+ years of digital video production experience with success on social/streaming platforms
- Proven ability to produce both longform and shortform video, especially talk-based formats
- Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere; motion design/graphics in After Effects a plus
- Experience managing freelancers or vendors and providing clear creative direction
- Excellent editorial instincts and scriptwriting ability for pacing and story arc in host-driven formats
- Collaborative, consultative working style able to integrate with existing teams
- Deep understanding of video platform ecosystems (YouTube, TikTok, Reels) and performance drivers
