Overview
In this Video Editor role, you will shape the visual narrative of Vox Media’s Podcast Network across full episodes and shoulder content. You’ll translate creator pacing into a distinctive podcast aesthetic, while ensuring strong branding and engaging motion graphics. You’ll collaborate with hosts and producers to deliver polished videos on a regular schedule and stay ahead of video trends. This is a chance to influence how multi-platform podcasts look and feel, bridging longform and shortform storytelling with bold visuals.

Responsibilities
- Edit and post-produce full-length podcast episodes for YouTube and video platforms
- Translate shortform creator pacing into an elevated podcast aesthetic
- Design and integrate motion graphics, lower thirds, captions, and visual cues
- Maintain consistent branding via color, typography, and layout across longform and shortform edits
- Implement split-screen layouts, on-screen text, pacing, and punch-ins to sustain engagement
- Address mixed-location interviews to ensure cohesion across footage types
- Collaborate with hosts, producers, and showrunners to iteratively deliver content on schedule
- Source and incorporate archival or social content to deepen storytelling
- Stay ahead of podcast video trends and contribute to evolving visual strategy
Key requirements
- 5+ years of experience in podcast or social video production for a media brand or individual talent
- Fluency with Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or other video editing programs
- Experience with motion design is a plus
- Strong sense of editing flow, pacing, and show/story arc under tight deadlines
- Portfolio showcasing voice, tone, and rhythm in editing
- Experience integrating motion graphics, typography, and on-screen text to enhance clarity or humor
- Experience with multi-camera editing and techniques like split-screens, overlays, animated inserts
- Ability to maintain brand consistency while exploring new formats and storytelling angles
