With a head office in Hai Phong City, Vietnam, and a design and representative office in London, the company combines in-house design, fully owned manufacturing, and dedicated Sales, Merchandising, and Production teams to manage the complete Critical Path. The London office is located in the E8 area, providing a vibrant environment for fashion and design professionals.
We are looking for a motivated and highly organised Design Room Assistant / Assistant Designer to join our Design team. This is a hands-on role supporting the Head of Design and Senior Designers across a wide range of projects, from initial trend research and concept development through to preparing tech packs for the sample room.
The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for fashion and detail, excellent CAD skills and a proactive approach. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their design experience within a fast-paced fashion environment.
The Role
- Supporting the Head of Design and Senior Designers across day-to-day design projects and seasonal collections.
- Creating, amending and updating fashion CADs using Adobe Illustrator.
- Helping to prepare detailed and accurate tech packs and design specifications for the sample room.
- Conducting trend, colour and competitor research and assisting with seasonal mood boards and design direction.
- Assisting with the creation of AI-generated fashion sketches and design concepts, where appropriate.
- Photographing, measuring garments and tracking shopping samples.
- Liaising with overseas factories, suppliers, and internal and external teams to ensure designs and product details are communicated and developed accurately.
- Assisting with presentations, design boards and general project administration.
- Keeping design files, samples and seasonal information organised and up to date.
- Managing multiple tasks and deadlines while supporting the wider Design team as required.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline, or relevant industry experience.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, particularly fashion CADs and technical drawings.
- A good understanding of garment construction, tech packs and the product development process.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- A strong eye for detail, colour, proportion and current fashion trends.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to get involved, take initiative and support the team wherever needed, while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong interest in fashion design and product development, with a desire to learn, develop and take on greater responsibility.
- Experience using AI tools to generate fashion sketches, concepts or design ideas would be a bonus.
- Knowledge and experience of garment measuring and speccing is desirable.
