The Senior Worship Pastor at St Paul’s exists to cultivate a people, not just a platform. We believe worship is not a musical moment but a whole‑life response — a weekly rehearsal for eternity and a daily participation in the life of God. Our gatherings are not performances to watch but encounters to inhabit. We move from distraction to attention, from self‑expression to surrender, from disgrace to amazing grace.

The Senior Worship Pastor will shape and steward a culture where:

  • the Spirit is welcomed and discerned
  • the Church learns to sing the gospel into one another
  • our gathered worship forms our scattered lives

You will lead, pastor and develop teams who help the church lift its eyes to the throne (Revelation 4–5), ensuring our worship is theologically rich, pastorally safe, spiritually expectant and musically accessible. This is a senior appointment within St Paul’s, sitting alongside our executive and pastoral leadership. The role operates on a flat structure within the worship department; there are no associate or assistant worship pastors underneath you. This role is not primarily about leading songs — it is about forming worshippers.

St Paul’s is one of the largest churches in the Bath and Wells Diocese, with a diverse congregation. Our vision is to see the renewal of our town, and lives restored, in Jesus’ name. Weston-super-Mare is in a period of regeneration, with ambitious plans to build a thriving University town, so there’s much more that we can be doing to develop our ministries here. This is why St Paul’s is always adapting; always listening; always learning; and always growing. So, if you fancy joining a large and lively team in a beautiful seaside town, growing our congregations in their discipleship journeys and setting their hearts on fire for Jesus… then we’d love to hear from you.
