Purpose of the Role

The Alpha & Groups Ministry Coordinator plays a key role in helping people move from first encounter to meaningful belonging at St Aldates. This role sits at the heart of two significant ministry pathways: Alpha and Groups. Alpha is one of the primary ways people explore faith, encounter Jesus, and begin their journey into church life. Groups are one of the primary ways people build community, deepen discipleship, and grow in belonging. These ministries are deeply connected. Alpha often serves as the front door into community, and Groups are one of the primary places where faith is sustained, deepened and lived out. This role exists to strengthen that journey.

The Alpha & Groups Ministry Coordinator reports to the Head of Groups and works in close partnership with the Alpha Lead to help create a clear and intentional pathway from Alpha into Groups and wider church community. This is a ministry coordination role requiring ownership, strong relational intelligence, organisational excellence and the ability to think strategically whilst delivering practically.

About St Aldates

Our vision is to invite people to encounter Jesus, equip people to follow Jesus in every area of their lives, and envision people to transform their communities. We are excited about what God is doing in our midst. We are seeing people come to faith in Jesus on a weekly basis, and we are pioneering new ways of discipling people to make a difference in every area of their lives. As a city‑centre church with a congregation of 1600+, we have hundreds of volunteer leaders and teams across our ministries, leading Aldates Groups, Alpha, student ministry, Aldates Kids and Youth. We have four services every Sunday, one of which is broadcast live. Our staff team consists of 40+ Ministry and Operations leaders. In addition, the School of Ministry recruits 10‑12 students annually who work alongside Ministry leaders.
