Hours: 15-20 hours per week, including Sundays and some Saturday, day, and evening work.
We are seeking a talented and gifted worship leader who can lead and develop the musical worship of Haven Green Baptist Church to help us encourage people from many backgrounds in connecting with God for the journey of life.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop band‑led sung worship at the 10:30 am service and other gatherings in person and online to facilitate an encounter with God that suits the diverse nature of the church.
- Recruit and mentor volunteer worship leaders and team members, including young people, and develop their talents and gifts.
- Encourage, facilitate, and develop all forms of worship both contemporary and traditional in regular services and special events.
- Utilise and expand the use of a wide range of musical instruments (and instrumentalists).
- Facilitate weekly worship practices and hold regular worship team meetings for prayer and worship.
- Support the sound‑tech team with equipment set‑up and output quality.
- Coordinate with the service leaders and speakers in planning worship.
- Undertake appropriate administrative tasks related to the role, including rotas.
- Be involved in the wider life of Haven Green.
- Perform other responsibilities/tasks as required by the Pastor.
Qualifications
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide at least two references: one of whom can vouch for their technical musical abilities and the other who can attest to their Christian commitment. References will be taken up prior to the appointment, including a safeguarding reference where appropriate.
