As an Outreach Tutor, you will work with students from EYFS to Year 11 with a range of needs, including SEN and SEMH. Sessions take place in homes, libraries, or school settings depending on the learner's circumstances. You will deliver personalised sessions in:
- English
- Maths
- PSHE
- Mentoring and engagement support
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver personalised learning sessions
- Support students with a range of SEN and behavioural needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with learners and families
- Keep clear session notes and progress reports
- Maintain safeguarding and professional standards at all times
What You Need
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification (desirable, not essential)
- Experience as a TA, LSA, HLTA, mentor, youth worker, unqualified tutor, or in alternative provision/1:1 settings
- Strong subject knowledge in English and/or Maths
- Experience supporting students with SEN or SEMH
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Confidence working independently and adapting lessons for diverse learners
