About Us: New Way Tuition Ltd is dedicated to paving new paths for learning and empowering every student to reach their full potential. We provide tailored support and innovative solutions for our SEN students.

The Role

As an Outreach Tutor, you will empower students who do not attend mainstream education due to reasons such as SEN, SEMH, or risk of permanent exclusion. This role includes one-to-one and group sessions in subjects including basic Maths, English, PSHE, interventions, and mentoring. Sessions are conducted at pupils\’ homes, local libraries, and schools. A strong understanding of Literacy and Maths and experience working with children, including those with SEND, is essential. Students range from EYFS to Year 11, with progression up to GCSE/Functional Skills levels. A current Enhanced DBS is essential.

Your mission includes: providing personalised academic support in English and Maths, building meaningful connections with students, implementing creative teaching strategies, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals, and using educational technology and resources to enhance learning experiences.

Qualifications

  • QTS (QTLS), PGCE, or a Bachelor\’s degree in Education, English, Maths, or related field (Preferred but not essential).
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience, particularly with children of diverse ages and abilities (Essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for unlocking student potential.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet evolving learner needs.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and resources.
