Outreach Tutor

As an Outreach Tutor at New Way Tuition Ltd, you will provide education and mentoring to students who do not attend mainstream education due to reasons such as SEN, SEMH, or risk of permanent exclusion.

The role involves one‑to‑one and group sessions in subjects including basic Maths, English, PSHE, interventions, and mentoring, conducted at pupils’ homes, local libraries, and schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised tutoring sessions to students of diverse ages and abilities.
• Inspire and motivate students to overcome obstacles and achieve their academic goals.
• Build strong connections with students and their families through clear communication and genuine care.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
• Incorporate cutting‑edge educational technology and resources to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with diverse age groups (Required).
• QTS (QTLS), PGCE or Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Maths, or related field (Preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for student success.
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• A current Enhanced DBS is essential.
• Strong understanding of Literacy and Maths; experience working with children including those with SEND.
