The Role

As an Outreach Tutor at New Way Tuition Ltd, you’ll be the guiding light for students seeking academic support.

We seek dedicated individuals to provide education and mentoring to students who do not attend mainstream education due to reasons such as SEN, SEMH or risk of permanent exclusion. This deeply rewarding role involves one-to-one and group sessions in subjects including basic Maths, English, PSHE, interventions and mentoring, conducted at pupils’ homes, local libraries and schools.

Candidates should possess a strong understanding of Literacy and Maths, alongside experience working with children, including those with SEND. Our students range from EYFS to Year 11, and we operate up to GCSE/Functional Skills levels. A current Enhanced DBS is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Providing personalised tutoring sessions to students of diverse ages and abilities.
  • Inspiring and motivating students to overcome obstacles and achieve their academic goals.
  • Building strong connections with students and their families through clear communication and genuine care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with diverse age groups.
  • QTS (QTLS), PGCE or Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Maths or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for student success.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
