We are seeking an accomplished Nurse Consultant to work nationally with care home services, providing expert clinical guidance, regulatory support, and operational improvement. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly credible nurse leader who thrives on making a measurable difference to care quality, resident wellbeing, and service performance.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Registered Nurse, Regional Clinical Lead, Quality Improvement Consultant, Turnaround Manager, Clinical Director, or Senior Operations Professional with a strong understanding of CQC regulatory requirements within adult social care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives across multiple care home services.
  • Support services in preparing for CQC inspections and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct mock inspections, quality audits, and governance reviews.
  • Identify risks, implement action plans, and drive sustainable service improvements.
  • Provide expert guidance on clinical governance, safeguarding, medication management, and best practice.
  • Analyse performance data and develop targeted improvement strategies.
  • Mentor and coach Home Managers, Clinical Leads, and senior leadership teams.
  • Support services requiring turnaround, recovery, or quality enhancement programmes.
  • Review care delivery standards to ensure person-centred, compassionate, and safe care.
  • Assist with policy development, implementation, and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Promote a positive culture of accountability, learning, and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and professional nursing requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Registered Nurse qualification with active NMC registration.
  • Significant leadership experience within elderly care, nursing homes, residential care, or complex care services.
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC standards, inspection frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
  • Proven experience supporting service improvement, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Ability to influence, coach, and build credibility with senior management teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, and action planning.
  • Flexible approach with willingness to travel nationally.
