A well-established residential care service in Bedford is seeking an experienced and compassionateRegistered Managerto lead the home through its next stage of development. The successful candidate will combine strong regulatory knowledge with a genuine passion for improving the lives of older adults. You will provide visible leadership within the home, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and team performance while building positive relationships with residents, families, and local stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong operational and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and person-centred care
- Maintain full regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement in line with CQC standards and best practice guidance
- Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team, promoting a positive and supportive culture within the home
- Ensure robust governance, safeguarding, and risk management processes are embedded across the service
- Manage budgets, resources, and occupancy levels to ensure the home remains sustainable and well-run
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, commissioners, and healthcare professionals
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management to maintain a skilled and engaged workforce
- Champion quality improvement initiatives that enhance residents’ wellbeing, independence, and quality of life
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or above) - essential
- Minimum3-4 years’ experience in a managerial role within a residential care setting
- Strong working knowledge ofCQC regulations, safeguarding frameworks, and governance processes
- Up-to-date understanding oflocal authority commissioning and partnership working
- Ability to livewithin reasonable commuting distance of Bedford
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of improving service quality and team performance
