We are supporting a well-established residential care service in Suffolk in the search for a Deputy Manager who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of the people they support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Care professional, Deputy Manager or aspiring Registered Manager who is confident leading teams, maintaining high standards and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a care service.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the service consistently delivers safe, compassionate and high-quality care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the service.
- Providing visible, compassionate leadership to the care team and promoting a positive culture.
- Supporting staff to deliver person-centred care that respects each individual's dignity, choices and independence.
- Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, medication processes and safeguarding procedures.
- Monitoring care quality and ensuring appropriate standards are maintained across the service.
- Supporting recruitment, induction, training, supervision and development of team members.
- Leading by example and providing guidance and support to colleagues during shifts.
- Working collaboratively with families, professionals and external stakeholders.
- Supporting audits, inspections and regulatory compliance.
- Responding appropriately to incidents, concerns and complaints, ensuring learning is embedded.
- Assisting with staffing, rotas and the effective allocation of resources.
- Deputising for the Registered Manager when required and taking responsibility for the service in their absence.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong leadership with genuine compassion .
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a senior care leadership position, such as Senior Care Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or similar.
- Experience working within a residential or supported care environment.
- A strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to lead, motivate and develop a care team.
- A calm, organised and solution-focused approach.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes and quality of life for the people you support.
- The ambition to progress within a rewarding career in care.
