Children & Youth Minister
Gordano Valley Church (GVC) is a growing church in the heart of Portishead.

Above all, we are looking for someone who loves Jesus, shares the vision and values of GVC, and is excited by the opportunity to help children and young people become lifelong followers of Jesus.
This role is about far more than leading programmes.
You will help shape a culture in which children and young people are known, loved and discipled; equip and develop volunteer teams; partner with parents and carers; and help the next generation participate fully in the life of the church.
We are looking for potential as well as experience and ultimately want the person God is calling.

- £30,000-£32,000 FTE (based on a 37.5-hour working week), pro rata depending on experience.
- 28-30 hours per week, including Sunday ministry and occasional evening work.
- Permanent contract, subject to a six-month probationary period.
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, pro rata (including no more than five Sundays).
- 7% Employer pension contribution (Nest).

- Occupational Requirement
In accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, the postholder must be a committed Christian who is able to wholeheartedly support the vision, values and statement of faith of Gordano Valley Church.
The role requires applicants to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults of all cultural backgrounds and have a good awareness of relevant policies and procedures, statutory legislation and guidance.
Due to the nature of the role, an Enhanced DBS is required.
The successful candidate will be, or become, an active member of Gordano Valley Church.
