Here at New Victoria Hospital, we are looking for a Theatre Administrator to join our dedicated and supportive Theatre team!
This role involves:
- Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Operating Theatre Department to ensure its smooth and efficient day-to-day operation.
- Acting as a key point of contact within the Theatre Office, answering telephone calls and ensuring messages are accurately relayed to the appropriate staff.
- Supporting the Theatre Manager and senior theatre staff with a wide range of administrative duties.
- Ordering and maintaining theatre stationery and stock, ensuring appropriate stock control and rotation.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and documentation, including service reports, loan kits, consignment items and quality assurance records.
- Supporting theatre staff by acting as an administrative resource and producing protocols and processes to support cover in times of absence.
- Taking minutes for departmental meetings and maintaining departmental statistics as required.
- Liaising with suppliers, service companies and internal departments such as Accounts to resolve invoice queries and ensure accurate billing.
- Maintaining national registers such as the National Joint Register and National Breast Implant Register, escalating issues where required.
As a Theatre Administrator Assistant at New Victoria Hospital, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care throughout the surgical pathway by ensuring the Theatre Department is well organised and efficiently run. Working closely with the wider theatre team, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality care while upholding the hospital’s values of being compassionate, exceptional, ethical and evolving.
Requirements
- Knowledge: Understanding of the role and what is expected. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Meditech experience (desirable).
- Experience: Office / Administration. Working in a team. Ordering stock and stock control. Experience of working in a healthcare setting (desirable).
- Qualifications: Educated to GCSE level in English and maths or equivalent.
