Here at New Victoria Hospital, we are looking for an Imaging Assistant (Technician) to join our friendly and supportive Imaging team!
This role involves:
- Supporting Radiologists, Radiographers and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure a smooth patient journey and high-quality imaging service.
- Assisting in the day-to-day running of the Imaging Department, contributing to a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for patients.
- Preparing patients for imaging examinations, including safety screening, supporting with dressing/undressing where required, and explaining procedures in a clear and reassuring manner.
- Assisting Radiographers and Radiologists during procedures such as biopsies, musculoskeletal lists and interventional imaging.
- Preparing imaging rooms at the start of the day, maintaining equipment and ensuring clinical areas are clean, well presented and ready for use.
- Working flexibly across imaging modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography and Fluoroscopy, as well as supporting mobile imaging on wards and in theatres.
- Supporting administrative tasks within the Imaging Department when required.
- Promoting New Victoria Hospital and the Imaging Department by delivering excellent patient care and customer service.
As an Imaging Assistant at New Victoria Hospital, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to both inpatients and outpatients. Working as part of a dedicated and professional team, you will support clinical activity across the department while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, dignity and experience, in line with New Victoria Hospital’s policies, procedures and values.
Requirements:
- Basic nursing tasks
- Hospital environment or similar
- Understanding of medical interventions and diagnosis
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Experience of working within a clinical environment, assisting with minor procedures, the ability to communicate and work cooperatively across the hospital.
- Previous experience in an Imaging Department
- Understanding of IRMER and local rules (desirable)
- Flexible working attitude
- Highly motivated, proactive, calm, pleasant and honest disposition
