Here at New Victoria Hospital, we are looking for a Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatres team. This role involves providing a high standard of professional practice and clinical care under direct supervision, as well as working within the theatre team to promote a good working environment.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of this role involve:
- Implement basic nursing care independently.
- Implement new/complex care with supervision.
- Practise in own clinical area of practice to agreed competency level.
- Implement research based practice.
- Recognise potential clinical challenges and ways of dealing with them.
- Develop preceptorship skills and actively support peers.
- Develop supervisory skills.
- Have a basic understanding of theatre budget/resource matters.
- Effectively communicate with patients and colleagues.
Requirements
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of relevant clinical and professional standards
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Good IT literacy
- Understanding of legal and professional practice requirements within perioperative care
Experience
- Previous experience working as a Surgical First Assistant
Qualifications
- ODP Level 3 or Registered Nurse
- HCPC Registration (for ODPs) or NMC Registration (for nurses)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
