After 21 years of dedicated service, our much-loved Clinical Director is taking a well-earned retirement – creating a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Director of Practice & Clinical Services to join us and help shape the next chapter of our practice.
You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team of 4 receptionists, 5 nurses, 3 veterinary surgeons and a practice manager, all committed to providing outstanding patient and client care – with a combined clinical experience of over 108 years!

About Us: New Street Vets is based in a charming market town within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We’re less than a five-minute walk from the town centre, close to all amenities, and next door to the train station with direct links to London and Exeter. We also have excellent road access via the A30, A303, and M5, plus dedicated on-site parking.

Flexible Rota: We would welcome full and/or part-time applicants. Our normal working week for this role is 40 hours, with 1:4 Saturday morning shift on a rota (with time off in lieu). This role has no OOH or on-call. We understand that balance matters – whether that’s family commitments or simply wanting more flexibility in your week. We’re happy to discuss rota patterns that work for you.
Key Responsibilities: You’ll work closely with our practice management and wider leadership team to shape and deliver our clinical vision: mentoring and inspiring our vets and nurses, and ensuring every patient and client receives the highest standard of care. This role offers the opportunity to continue doing what you love clinically, while influencing, guiding, and inspiring those around you. A small part of your role will also include non-clinical duties such as P&L and H&S which is supported by the Head Nurse and Practice Manager.
About You: Ideally, experience or interest in leadership, though formal management experience isn’t essential. Confidence in your clinical ability (ideally surgically biased).
