Job Title: Director of Governance, Legal Services, and Procurement
Our client, a forward-thinking medium sized housing association is committed to providing high-quality services that meet the needs of its communities. It prides itself on maintaining a strong governance framework and a dedication to compliance with regulatory standards.
The organisation is looking for a qualified solicitor for a one year period to lead the operational delivery of Governance, Legal Services, and Procurement functions. This role will ensure that governance and legal services contribute to corporate objectives while maintaining a robust compliance framework. The successful candidate will be accountable for the procurement function, driving commercial outcomes through effective business partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Leadership Group to develop and execute the organisation’s business strategy.
- Provide expert legal, governance, and regulatory advice to the Executive Board and key stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in governance, legal services, and procurement.
- Manage legal operational risks and oversee external providers as necessary.
- Deliver a corporate governance framework that meets regulatory requirements and supports efficient decision-making.
- Serve as the Group Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with data protection legislation.
Person Specification:
- Qualified solicitor with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience in landlord and tenant, housing management, and property litigation.
- Strong understanding of the legal and governance framework for regulated providers in the social housing sector.
- Proven leadership experience with strong project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
