About Worthing Homes
Worthing Homes is a community-focused housing association with a simple but powerful purpose: providing homes to support better lives. Managing more than 4,000 homes and supporting around 10,000 customers across the Sussex coast, we are deeply rooted in our communities and proud of our reputation as a trusted landlord and partner. In 2024 we launched our new corporate plan, 27 Steps by 2027, setting out our ambition to become the Home of Brilliance; a customer‑first organisation that delivers brilliant outcomes for residents, colleagues and communities.
Board Member Role
We are now looking for two new Board Members to join us from August/September 2026, as part of our succession planning. These are genuine opportunities to contribute to the strategic direction of a dynamic, values‑driven organisation at an exciting point in its journey.
Candidate Requirements
- Senior‑level experience in residential property asset management.
- Senior‑level experience in customer service and/or community engagement; this could be someone from a non‑profit, public or private sector background who brings real fluency in working with diverse customer groups or communities and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and equity.
Candidates will bring an understanding of governance and risk, gained in either board‑facing senior executive or non‑executive roles; we are happy to consider and support people for whom this would be a first non‑executive role. For both board seats, we are looking for people who will enjoy contributing to the full range of issues that come to the Board. We need people who combine strategic thinking with commercial acumen, and who understand what it means to serve customers well in a regulated environment.
Values and Commitment
Above all, we are looking for people who share our values and our passion for making a real difference; collaborative, curious and confident contributors who will bring challenge and support in equal measure, and who feel a genuine connection to what Worthing Homes is here to do.
Remuneration and Working Hours
These are remunerated roles requiring a time commitment of around 1.5 days a month, with Board meetings held in the evening at our Worthing office and committee meetings held online.
