Our client is a rapidly evolving wealth management group that has grown through acquisition, integration and transformation.
What exists today is a collection of strong businesses without a fully integrated Group Risk function sitting across the whole organisation. They are seeking a Chief Risk Officer to build that framework.
This is not a role for someone looking to maintain a mature function. It is for someone who enjoys creating structure, defining how risk should operate and building a second line that adds value rather than bureaucracy.
You'll have the backing of an engaged executive team and a genuine opportunity to shape how risk is managed across a complex, regulated business.
What you'll do
- Build and lead the Group Risk function
- Create a consistent risk framework across multiple entities and business lines
- Own enterprise, operational and conduct risk management
- Strengthen risk governance, policies, controls and oversight
- Partner closely with Operations, Compliance and the wider leadership team
- Support integration activity as the business continues to evolve
- Ensure risk management is proportionate, commercial and embedded into decision-making
What you'll bring
- Senior risk leadership experience within wealth management, private banking, investment management or broader financial services
- Previous experience leading a Risk function as CRO, Group CRO, Chief Risk Officer or equivalent
- Experience designing or rebuilding risk frameworks rather than simply maintaining existing structures
- A pragmatic and commercially-minded approach to risk
Highly desirable
- Experience supporting business integration, acquisition activity or major transformation programmes
- Exposure to multiple regulated business models across wealth, investments, advice or banking
- Experience operating in environments where governance frameworks needed building or significant enhancement
Why this opportunity:
Few CRO positions genuinely offer the chance to create something from the ground up.
This role combines executive influence, strategic ownership and practical delivery. You'll inherit a business with significant momentum and have the opportunity to establish the framework, governance and culture that supports the next phase of growth.
For the right individual, this is a rare chance to leave a lasting mark on a well-established financial services business.
