A well-established, privately owned main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager with a main contractor background to be part of a team on a large £40m+ residential development near Maidstone, Kent. This is a long-term role (2+ years) offering genuine site ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to deliver a flagship project outside of a PLC environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full day-to-day management on a large residential site
  • Managing subcontractors and coordinating all trades
  • Driving programme, quality, and health & safety performance
  • Overseeing all construction phases through to completion
  • Maintaining site paperwork including RAMS, permits, inspections, and daily records
  • Producing accurate progress reports for senior management
  • Managing quality control

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on residential or mixed-use projects
  • Main contractor background is essential
  • Experience working on large-scale schemes
  • Strong technical knowledge and a hands-on approach
  • Excellent paperwork, reporting, and organisational skills
  • Confident managing subcontractors and running a site autonomously

Qualifications

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS (Black or Gold preferred)
  • First Aid
