A growing, multi-disciplinary construction company are seeking an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join their close-knit and hands-on team. Based near Hever, Kent, the company deliver a diverse range of projects across Kent and London, including a range of sectors working on projects including full school refurbishments, new-build housing developments, and hotel reconfigurations.
Operating as a main contractor as well as providing consultancy and management support to other contractors, and now expanding into their own development work, the business offers rare exposure to multiple sides of the construction industry - something you won’t typically find in large Tier 1 organisations.
Because the company is small but expanding, this role offers genuine progression and day-to-day involvement with experienced directors. You’ll work closely with the Head of Construction, gaining hands-on experience and insight into how a multi-disciplinary construction business operates. This role is ideal for someone who has built some foundation within construction and wants a position where they can learn quickly, take on responsibility, and grow without getting lost in the structure of a large contractor.
Requirements
- Some prior experience in construction or site management (assistant or trainee level)
- Ambitious, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable working closely with senior leadership and supporting across multiple project types
- Ability to assist with site operations, H&S compliance, and subcontractor coordination
Desirable Skills & Certifications
- Previous experience with refurb or new-build projects (preferred but not essential)
- Understanding of site paperwork, health & safety, and day-to-day site processes
