Responsibilities
Provide a full range of internal audit services to the Council, Kirklees Active Leisure and West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service. Conduct high‑level internal audits within all areas of the Audit Plan, undertake special investigations and other ad hoc work as required. Supervisory duties may include directing and motivating junior staff where appropriate.
Deliver high‑quality internal audit service, evaluating financial and management information quickly and accurately. Analyse data, prepare detailed written reports, and present findings to senior management within agreed time limits, in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards.
Qualifications
Ideally CCAB qualified; IIA, AAT, or part‑CCAB qualified candidates will also be considered. Applicants must demonstrate, through experience, the ability to work at a Senior Internal Audit Officer level, including analysing data, presenting and reporting detailed information to management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, high literacy and numeracy, and adaptability to new IT systems are required.
