About the role

We’re looking for a Service Designer to join our Service Design and Digital Adoption team within the Transformation service.

This role will allow you to contribute to the design and improvement of services that impact thousands of residents.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team supported by experienced senior colleagues and a manager who is committed to your development and progression.

You’ll play an important role in delivering change, while building your confidence and skills within a well‑established and supportive team.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the design and improvement of services using user‑centred design principles.
  • Work with colleagues to understand user needs and service challenges.
  • Contribute to key service design activities such as user research, journey mapping and prototyping.
  • Help facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions with stakeholders.
  • Support the promotion of service design best practice across the organisation.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about service design and eager to develop their career.

What matters is that you are curious, thoughtful, comfortable working with uncertainty, and able to turn what you learn from people into practical improvements.

  • Experience or knowledge of user‑centred design approaches.
  • Know when and how to use service design tools and techniques (e. g., user journeys, personas, workshop facilitation).
  • Strong communicator who can work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Motivated to learn, develop, and grow within the role.
