This full‑time role, offering hybrid working with a minimum of two days in the office per week, supports the planning policy team in the development and implementation of the local plan for Maldon District. The role requires a minimum of 2 days in the office per week and may involve evening meetings and occasional off‑site visits.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, monitoring, and reviewing planning policy across the district.
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform key policies and evidence bases.
  • Assisting in the production of key policies and the Authority Monitoring Report.
  • Supporting consultation and public engagement activities.
  • Collaborating with infrastructure providers, neighbouring authorities, and Essex County Council on strategic planning matters.
  • Contributing to parish council neighbourhood plans, managing Section 106 agreements, and undertaking monitoring activities.
  • Working closely with Development Management colleagues on significant development proposals.
