Salary: £130,095 per annum, negotiable based on experience. This role is full-time and offers a hybrid working arrangement with regular office attendance in London. The Housing Ombudsman Service plays a critical role in supporting the government’s housing agenda by providing swift and effective redress for the roughly 4 million social tenants who can access its service.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the organization through a significant period of transformation and scale‑up while delivering a trusted and impartial service.
  • Drive continuous improvement in customer experience and case output.
  • Advocate for tenants, leaseholders and landlords as a skilled arbitrator balancing stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as the Regulator of Social Housing, other redress providers and government partners to achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Senior leadership experience and expertise in maintaining and improving organizational output and performance.
  • Experience leading transformation and organizational change.
  • Expertise in digital innovation and consumer rights/consumer protection preferably in a housing context.
  • Experience with complex casework and/or complaint handling.
  • Understanding of the Ombudsman role, Parliament and government workings.
  • Strong partnership skills with government bodies to deliver strategic objectives.

Location: London (Hybrid – regular office attendance required).
