The Royal Borough of Greenwich Repairs and Investment Service is looking for a strong and highly motivated Housing Energy and Sustainability Manager with excellent knowledge and passion for sustainability, retrofitting and energy efficiency.

In this exciting role, you will:

  • Drive forward sustainability, energy and environmental projects in support of the delivery of the Council's objective of Carbon neutrality by 2030.
  • Build relationships and partnership ways of working internally and externally in the delivery of sustainability projects and initiatives that promote resource efficiency.
  • Identify and manage funding opportunities for innovative project development in sustainability, energy and environmental resource efficiency.
  • Advise the council on sustainability, energy and environmental considerations of its housing stock.

What you'll need:

  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of sustainability, including low carbon heating, retrofitting, energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change adaptation, sustainable refurbishment and biodiversity.
  • Ability to work closely with the Asset Data Manager and R&I teams to ensure accurate investment decisions, value for money and strong data management.
  • A proven track record of delivering sustainability, energy and environmental projects, from funding bids to project delivery.
  • A relevant academic qualification (relevant recognised degree standard qualification in a relevant environmental science) or equivalent work-based experience.
  • Line management of Housing Energy and Sustainability team through excellent performance and team development.
  • Ability to build effective, positive relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) including Members and be an active member of different teams.
