As Executive Director of Corporate Resources you will be part of our journey in continuing to make a real difference to Hull’s residents, businesses and communities. This position holds the key responsibilities for professionally leading and delivering a portfolio of services and providing strategic oversight of the directorate, which includes: finance and transformation, ICT, revenue and benefits, audit and fraud, organisation development & HR, and legal services (including democratic services and procurement).

As the leader of the services which are vital to the effective running of the council, both internal and outward facing, the position requires an individual with a very strong commitment to engagement, partnership and teamwork, and also with the skills to manage a diverse portfolio of services where extremely high standards are expected. If successful, you will be responsible for ensuring that the council meets all its statutory requirements in terms of its financial governances. You will also hold responsibility for the legal compliance of the council.

Strong leadership skills are essential, to ensure our organisation operates in a way that responds to our priorities, and our communities’ needs and expectations, whilst operating within statutory frameworks. Putting people first and at the centre of everything we do, valuing learning, working closely in partnership with others, respecting each other, and being hugely ambitious for our place and our citizens, is what we are all about.

The successful candidate will be also a key part of the council’s Senior Leadership Team and of Hull’s wider community, and will have an essential role to play in driving forward the community and place-making agendas which are key to our future success.
