Our Housing Strategy outlines how – in partnership with developers, housing associations, and the local community – we’re responding to Shropshire’s housing challenges and providing the homes our residents deserve. You’ll be accountable for delivering the Strategy, overseeing the Council’s own housing stock, private sector accommodation, and tackling homelessness. Delivering through partnerships, and building relationships with stakeholders across all sectors, will be crucial. Moreover, you’ll ensure the council fulfils its statutory and compliance responsibilities related to housing.

As you’d expect, you’ll make a significant expert contribution to the development of our approach to housing, and will brief senior executive and elected colleagues on all aspects of the portfolio. Candidates will be experienced housing professionals, able to demonstrate close and detailed grasp of the fundamentals of this role, including all regulation, legislation and national policy. We want to see a strong track record of innovative and decisive leadership, whatever your current level of seniority.
