Job Overview

A fixed‑term maternity cover contract ending May 2027, part‑time, term time only, with a 32‑hour week and annual leave during term time. The role is for a part‑time Horticultural – Educational Support Worker to provide maternity cover at Yorkshire Rose College, a specialist college for students with individual communication needs including deafness, autism spectrum conditions and learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom and pastoral support to students in the college learning environment.
  • Offer on‑site horticultural education and guidance to students, either 1:1 or in group settings.
  • Assist students with personal care needs when required.
  • Work outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Support the delivery of City and Guilds 7573‑11 and 7573‑02 units in collaboration with the tutor.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Horticultural qualification to Level 1 or Level 2 Diploma.
  • Competence in supporting the delivery of City & Guilds 7573‑11 and 7573‑02 units.
  • Good communicator, excellent team player with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with adults with hearing impairments, learning difficulties, or other disabilities.
