Delivery Driver – Hemel Hempstead

Newstaff Employment is recruiting for a Delivery Driver to join a long-term Meals on Wheels contract based in Hemel Hempstead. This is a rewarding role combining delivery driving with providing essential support and care to customers in the community.

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £14.50 per hour
Working Hours: 11 am–3 pm (4 hours minimum paid)
Job Type: Ongoing, Permanent (weekend and some weekday shifts available)

  • Deliver meals to customers in line with company delivery procedures
  • Read and check round sheets before departure, noting any updates or new clients
  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional customer service while maintaining confidentiality
  • Cover rounds and deliver to lunch clubs as requested by the line manager
  • Report any customer “no replies” immediately to the Support Team, following correct procedures
  • Monitor the wellbeing of customers and notify the Support Team of any concerns
  • Collect cheque payments from customers when required and deliver them to the Support Team
  • Full UK driving licence (a company van will be provided)
  • Enhanced DBS check (essential)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Caring and compassionate nature with attention to detail
  • Ability to follow procedures and work independently
