Job Summary
As a Machine (Press Brake, CNC Router or Laser) Operator you will load raw materials and set the machinery prior to operation. Working with various materials such as Mild, Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Plastic, ensuring that materials are checked for size, thickness and grade. Setting and operating the machines. Loading and unloading sheet materials and cut parts using nesting software, interpreting drawings and checking parts, ensuring standards are met by working off Bill of Materials, deburring parts after cutting, sorting cut parts by job and materials. Routing parts and completing required documentation to ensure quality of parts are checked against drawings. Look at potential risks and continuous improvement within our operations. You will also ensure that a high level of health and safety, compliance with company policy is always adhered to.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with team members to achieve targets related to On-Time Delivery (OTD).
- Forming of sheet metal and plate on press brake.
- Metal finishing and forming.
- Measure, cut down and inspect parts coming off the machines.
- Keep detailed records to perform maintenance procedures on any machine.
- Work from and understand technical drawings.
- Adhere to all H&S regulations.
- Working on various other machines when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience of operating Press brakes, CNC routers or Lasers.
- Strong knowledge of engineering and production environments.
- Must be able to use protractor, square, vernier and tape measures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of nesting software is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/ 365 applications, Sage and Cim50 also beneficial.
