This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical laboratory experience to join a collaborative team and play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate analysis of nutritional products.

Scope of the Role: As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a key part in delivering accurate and efficient laboratory testing to support the production and development of high-quality animal nutrition products. Working within a small and collaborative lab team, you'll be responsible for preparing, analysing, and managing a wide variety of sample types using both traditional and modern analytical techniques. The role requires a methodical approach, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work to strict turnaround times while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out analysis using wet chemistry techniques, NIR scanning, and NIR analysis
  • Prepare and analyse samples for vitamins using HPLC
  • Prepare and analyse mineral content using ICP
  • Conduct enzyme activity testing
  • Perform NIR analysis on raw materials, feeds, and forages
  • Assist the Senior Analyst in meeting turnaround times for testing
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the lab and stockrooms
  • Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and calibrated
  • Correctly store and label samples according to laboratory procedures

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a practical, hands-on laboratory role, ideally in an analytical setting
  • Confident working with databases; experience with LIMS is a distinct advantage
  • Methodical and detail-focused, with a high standard of accuracy
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team
  • Open to learning new techniques and processes
  • IT-literate and comfortable using standard software packages
