The Role
As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the organisation’s management accounts and play a central role in leading a small but capable finance team. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Operations, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys both technical accounting and team leadership within a purpose-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Manage and support a small finance team, providing guidance and development
- Ensure strong financial controls and compliance across all processes
- Produce clear financial insights for senior leadership and trustees
- Liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation
- Support year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
- Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and reporting efficiency
- Act as a trusted finance partner across the wider organisation
About You
We are looking for a confident, approachable and self-motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. You will ideally have:
- Part-qualified, fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
- Ability to lead or support a small finance team
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage non-finance stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Confidence working in a fast-paced but supportive environment
- Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Excel
Contract Details
- Salary: £45,423 per annum
- Contract: 15-month maternity cover (starting July/August 2026)
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
- Working Pattern: Office-based in Devizes with hybrid working (1 day WFH – Friday)
